Despite widespread reports of Sam Byrams impending move to Everton, it seems that the Merseyside club have been beaten to the signing of the 22 year old Leeds defender, by West Ham.
Byram was left out of the 18 man match day squad at the weekend due to him being given permission to speak to Everton. The defender however now appears to be set for a move to Upton Park unless there are future twist in this story.
Leeds Chairman, Massimo Cellino said;
I really feel sorry for Everton because they really acted like a gentleman, but Sam just chose West Ham.
Byram has played in over 140 appearances for Leeds since his debut in 2012. However, his Leeds contract will expire in the summer and the Leeds chairman has opted to cash in on the player.
