West Ham striker hands in transfer request

West Ham striker Diafra Sakho has handed in a transfer request in a bid to secure regular first team football away from the London club.

According to the Daily Mail, The Senegalese striker has expressed his desire to leave the club this summer after the club have targetted a new striker as some one of their highest priorities in this summers transfer window.

Sakho was the subject of an £11million bid from Sunderland last month, but Sam Allardyce’s interest in the striker is since believed to have cooled.

The 26-year old was the club’s top goalscorer during his first season at the club, scoring 12 goals in 26 games. However he found his opportunities much more limited last term under Slaven Bilic, making just 21 appearances and scoring just five times.
