Arsene Wenger has denied reports that Arsenal have made a move for Bordeaux winger, Malcom. The Brazilian is the player on everyone’s lips at the moment, with Manchester United and Tottenham also having being linked with the 21-year-old.
Reports in recent days have suggested that Arsenal have joined the chase to sign him, with some reporting today that the Gunners are leading the race for his signature as they look to secure a replacement for the outgoing Alexis Sanchez.
However, speaking at his press conference this morning, Wenger took time to praise the player, but denied that anything was ongoing. He said:
“He is a good player but nothing is happening. We are not on that case at the moment.”
Whether that changes is yet to be seen, althoug Bordeaux are thought to be keen to keep hold of the player until the end of the season.
While he denied a move for Malcom had been made, the Frenchman did state that the club are ‘active’ in the transfer market:
“I don’t rule it out. We are in the market and we are active. But I don’t want to give news that I cannot confirm. Things change very quickly.”
Where will Malcom be playing his football next season?
