Wenger admits he will never recover from Anfield thrashing

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he will never get over the pain of his sides 4-0 capitulation at Anfield earlier this season.

In fact the experienced French manager admitted that he will carry the anguish of that, and other defeats with him for the rest of his life :

“Well, when you have such a long career as I have, you have some defeats unfortunately that hurt you for the rest of your life,” he admitted.

“I believe what is interesting in football is you always have a time to make up for it. When you can put things right, do it. So, let’s focus on what is in front of us and turn up on Friday night with a completely different performance.

Arsenal’s performance at Anfield in August was described by many as the worst of Wenger’s long tenure as Gunners boss. He will have a chance to exact some revenge on Liverpool tomorrow evening when the clubs meet at The Emirates in a crucial game in the race for the top four.
