WATCH: Jose Mourinho’s press conference after Southampton hold Man Utd to a 0-0 draw

Jose Mourinho cut a disappointed figure after Manchester United were unable to beat Southampton in the final game of 2017.

United were held to their third draw in a row and are without a win in four after a disappointing 0-0 home draw against struggling Southampton.

The result means that the Red Devils have fallen even further behind in the seemingly one horse race for the title, with the probability that they wil start 2018 a staggering 17 points behind Manchester City.

However, Mourinho thought his side did enough to win the game, and felt his side should have had a penalty in the first half when Maya Yoshida appeared to handle the ball in the area.

He was rueful of the injury to Romelu Lukaku, and the fact he was denied the opportunity to rest Marcus Rashford, who had to be introduced as an early substitute.

The Belgian striker suffered a blow to the back of the head before being treated for several minutes and eventually removed from the pitch on a stretcher. In another interview, he revealed the extent of the problem for both Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Here are five things we learned from the 0-0 draw
