Transfer Deadline Day: Preview

It’s one of the highlights of the calendar, and just like the Queens birthday, it comes around twice a year. It’s Transfer Deadline Day. Here is a preview of some of the deals we can expect to happen.

In honesty, we aren’t expecting much, but there’s usually a shock deal done so let’s take a look.

Arsenal

It’s been a quiet month for the Gunners and we aren’t expecting any major deals. A few loan player leaving is the most we are expecting at the Emirates. Carl Jenkinson, Mathieu Debuchy and Chuba Akpom are a few players linked with moves away.

Bournemouth

Remain interested in signing Asmir Begovic from Chelsea, but highly dependent on the Blues signing a replacement. Don’t rule it out though.

Burnley

After missing out on Robert Snodgrass to West Ham, you would think that Burnley are still keen on bringing somebody in. Robbie Brady has been linked with a £13m move from Championship club Norwich. A strong possibility that this will happen.

They have expressed an interest in Bournemouth midfielder Dan Gosling whilst also want to sign Scotland international Andrew Robertson from relegations strugglers Hull.

Chelsea

One expected departure is that of Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic. He had been linked with a move to Everton before he was heavily linked with Zenit St Petersburg a few days ago. West Brom’s name has now crept into the mix so this is certainly one to look out for.

Another possible departure is that of Asmir Begovic, who has been linked with Bournemouth, but that depends on Chelsea signing a replacement. Celtic ‘keeper Craig Gordon has been linked.

Crystal Palace

One big move could be that of Andros Townsend moving back to Newcastle. That deal could involve Chancel Mbemba moving the other way? One to watch out for!

Martin Caceres is another player confirmed to be interesting Crystal Palace, however this deal may not happen before the deadline, as the player is unattached and can be signed at any time.

Carl Jenkinskon is another player being linked with making the move from North to South London.

Everton

Not a lot expected from Ronald Koeman tomorrow after bringing in Ademola Lookman and Morgan Schneiderlin. A few squad player could be let go, but there aren’t even many rumours about that.

Ronald Koeman has revealed he has an interest in Burnley defender Michael Keane, but is just one of a number of admirers and is prepared to wait until the Summer window.

Hull

Marco Silva is probably frantically scouring the market for players, especially following the loss of Robert Snodgrass to West Ham. They could be set to lose Andrew Robertson, and will be keen to sign a replacement for the left back. Marvin Zeegelaar of Sporting Lisbon is a potential replacement

Leicester City

It could be an interesting day for Leicester and one to keep an eye on. Leonardo Ulloa has made it clear he wants to leave, and could be heading to Sunderland or Spain.

The Champions also have an interest in signing Middlesbrough’s Gaston Ramirez who has told the Teesside club he wants to leave. This is a deal we expect to be completed.

They have also been linked with Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji.

Liverpool

Very little activity expected at Anfield, with the possibility of a few youngsters heading out on loan.

Man City

Again, no arrivals expected at the Etihad with the departure lounge not expected to be a hive of activity either. Sorry City fans.

Man Utd

Nothing expected on the way of arrivals, and very few if any departures. Ashley Young is apparently the only one who could leave.

Middlesbrough

Ahhh some movement, maybe. Gaston Ramirez is expected to leave, as could Jordan Rhodes. Aston Villa are believed to be interested in signing the former Blackburn striker.

Middlesborough missed out on the signings of Snodgrass and Bojan so I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of arrivals at the Riverside.

Southampton

Linked with Serdar Tasci from Spartak Moscow and Manolo Gabbiadini from Napoli. The latter has been linked with making a £17million move.

Virgil van Dijk is still a slight possibility of a departure, but we rank this as ‘unlikely’

Stoke

Always a deadline day mover, will it be the case this year? Mark Hughes has claimed they are still looking, but it is unsure whether there will be any transfer business.

Sunderland

Desperatly trying to find somebody to help keep them in the Premier League, but David Moyes has been told there isn’t much in the transfer kitty. They have however been linked with a move for Leicester striker Leonardo Ulloa. He has refused to play for the Champions again and Sunderland are known to have had a bid rejected.

Swansea

The Swans have been linked with making a move for Benfica defender Lisandro Lopez. A potential £7million fee has been speculated.

Crystal Palace midfielder Lee Chung-Yong is thought to be on the Swans radar. Meanwhile they are interested in bringing in Jordan Ayew from Aston Villa. That deal could involve Neil Taylor going the other way.

Another potential departure is that of Madou Barrow who has been linked with a loan move to Leeds, although Aston Villa have also been linked.

Tottenham

Like most of the big clubs, Tottenham are highly unlikely to be making any Deadline Day moves, and after their excellent form, why would they?

Watford

Odion Ighalo is expected to complete a mega money move to the Chinese Super League, with Changchun Yatai linked. Jerome Sinclair is also expected to leave, with Nottingham Forest and Birmingham interested in taking the striker on loan.

Nicolas Pepe of Angers is interesting the Hornets.

West Brom

Salomon Rondon could be a shock target for Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian. He could be replaced by Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson. Hull striker Abel Hernandez, Watfords Odion Ighalo, and Angers forward Nicolas Pepe are also targets.

The Baggies were interested in signing a defender, with Barnsley defender Marc Roberts having being linked whilst Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic is a target too, although he is expected to go to Zenit St Petersburg, whilst Roberts is expected to stay at his home town club.

Tony Pulis has also confirmed that he scouted Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Kurt Zouma and Nathaniel Chalobah at Chelsea’s recent FA Cup tie at Brentford

West Ham

Ashley Fletcher is expected to be sent out to Leeds on loan.

Scott Hogan from Brentford is one potential arrival at the club, with a few between £9m and £15m behind speculated.
