Transfer blow for Middlesbrough as high profile deal collapses

Bad news Middlesbrough fans! The deal to bring Borussia Dortmund defende Neven Subotic to the Riverside has collapsed according to reports this morning.

The newly promoted Premier League club had agreed an £8million fee with the Bundesliga Giants, and the player arrived in the North East last week to view the clubs facilities and discuss personal terms.

However, Sky Sports News have reported that the deal to bring the experienced defender has now collapsed, leaving Aitor Karanka having to look elsewhere, with just over three weeks to go until the start of the Premier League season.

They are however expected to complete a deal to sign Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo from Valencia, who will join up on the clubs pre-season tour of Spain.
