Swansea reject Everton bid for Williams

Swansea City have rejected a £10million bid from Everton for club captain Ashley Williams.

Everton were believed to be close to completing a deal for the 32-year old, but their move for the defender has hit a stumbling block after the Swans rejecyed their offer.

A club source said:

We are not looking to sell him and therefore we have turned down the offer currently on the table

The Blues are expected to increase their offer for the defender, who would be a ready made replacement for John Stones, who is strongly linked with a big money move to Manchester City.

Everton are also interested in Sunderland centre-back Lamine Kone.
