Stoke summer signing close to securing swift exit

Stoke City loanee Jese is close to making a swift exit according to reports, despite only arriving at the club in the summer.

The former Real Madrid academy product arrived at the bet365 stadium on a season long loan from Ligue 1 side, Paris Saint Germain. The Spaniard had an instant and wonderful impact for the Potters, scoring a fantastic goal on his debut, but his season has since gone south, making just nine appearances and not adding to his goal tally.

According to Sky Sports, the 24-year-old wants to return to Las Palmas where he spent the second half of last season.

The Spanish side are also keen on re-signing him and have apparently reached a verbal agreement with the player, although still need to reach an agreement with both Stoke and his parent club PSG.

However, despite Jese’s troubles, Stoke boss Mark Hughes has insisted that he still has a part to play this season.

“We’re not quite sure how much work he’s been able to do. He’s been in hospital for most of that time.

“He’s not quite where he needs to be to be a factor for us. He might get back to the level he needs to be at very soon, hopefully.”
