Stoke City are ready to up their interest in Robin van Persie as Mark Hughes wants to strengthen his attacking options.
The former Arsenal and Manchester United striker moved to Fenerbahce last summer, but wants to return to the Premier Leage after a difficuly spell in Turkey.
The striker spent a lot of time on the bench last season, despite scoring 22 goals for the Turkish club.
Stoke are just one of a number of teams interested in signing Van Persie, who is willing to take a pay cut on his current £240,000-a-week deal to make a move happen.
Middlesbrough are also interested in thr Dutchman, whilst West Ham have rules themselves out.
Stoke are also pressing forward on a move to take Saido Berahino to the bet365 stadium.
