Tottenham have completed the club record signing of Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.
The Columbian central defender has signed a six year deal after Spurs agreed a club record fee of around £42million with the famous Dutch club.
It has been claimed that the deal to take Sanchez to Spurs is worth £28million up front, with a further £14m to be paid in add ons.
Sanchez only arrived at Ajax last summer, but made a string of impressive appearances, including in the Europa League final against Manchester United where despite losing 2-0, he stood out.
In a statement on the club website, Davinson said:
“I would like to thank the coach, management, players and fans of Ajax. It is a great move for me to come here to develop my career.
“I am very excited to be signing for such a famous club as Tottenham Hotspur. I am looking forward to working with Mauricio Pochettino and the players and meeting everyone there.”
He won Ajax’s player of the year award after scoring seven goals in 47 appearances, all in his debut campaign.
