Southampton slap £40million price tag on Liverpool target

With Ronald Koeman gone, and Victor Wanyama on his way to Tottenham in a cut price deal, Southampton have slapped a £40million price tag on their star asset amid increasing interest from Liverpool.

The Sun on Sunday claim that Southampton are determined to keep hold of their star man, who was linked with a move to Manchester United last summer.

It had been thought that Southampton were looking for around £25million for the Senegalese striker, but with a series of high profile departures from the club, The Saints will demand top money for the 24-year old.

Mane himself is thought to be demanding £125,000-a-week from any potential suitors.
