Southampton refuse to sell star pair in January transfer window

The January window isn’t usually a time where clubs spend big in order to bolster their squad, but that is looking to be considerably different this season. Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all trying to splash the cash, and bring in some proven quality.

Two players who are reportedly keen on being on the move is the Southampton pair of Sadio Mane and Victor Wanyama, but their boss Ronald Koeman has told them they aren’t going anywhere in this transfer window.

The news comes from the usually reliable Times media outlet, and Southampton will certainly be doing all they can to keep hold of these star players until at least the summer. Clubs like Southampton rely so heavily on players like Mane and Wanyama, and their season could well collapse if they are to lose either one of them.
