Southampton manager update

Southampton are on the look out for their next manager, just one day after former boss Ronald Koeman was unveiled in his new role at Goodison Park.

Southampton have been linked with making a move for Bournemouth’s young boss, Eddie Howe, but it is believed that the Saints have since decided to target other managers.

It is believed that the South Coast club have set their sights on outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini to become their new boss.

Southampton have now lost their last two young and upcoming managers to other clubs, as Mauricio Pochettino and now Ronald Koeman have moved to Tottenham and Everton respectively, and could now turn a more senior and experienced manager.

Pellegrini is however not the only name on the Saints shortlist, as Claude Puel and Vitor Pereira are also in contention to take over at St Marys, with Interviews scheduled for this weekend.

Former Roma manager Rudi Garcia has also been mentioned, as has former Ajax boss Frank de Boer, but it is believed that they are no longer in the running for the top job.
