Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson is sensationally prepared to return to a hands on role at Manchester United, IF the club sack Louis van Gaal before the end of this season, according to the Sunday People.
Ryan Giggs is waiting in the wings to take over at old Trafford after being Van Gaal’s assistant manager since he took over at Old Trafford, and it is understood that his once manager, Sir Alex Ferguson would be willing to help him in a hands on, advisory capacity, however does not fancy a return to the dugout.
Sir Alex Ferguson has kept a relatively low profile at Manchester United, despite attending the majority of the clubs games. The newspaper claims that Ferguson has effectively been excluded from any key strategic decisions at the club since he helped to appoint David Moyes at Old Trafford. But he is still a hugely respected figure at Old Trafford and would find it impossible to say no if his young apprentice were to seek guidance from the grand old master.
Van Gaal’s job has been under increasing pressure as his team failed to win in 8 consecutive games. United are now four games unbeaten, but come up against old enemy, Liverpool today at Anfield. Anything less than a victory could see Manchester United fans lose all patience with their Dutch manager.
Sir Alex left Manchester United in 2013 after 27 glorious years at the club, winning 13 Premier League titles and 2 Champions Leagues.
