Mario Balotelli is strongly tipped to leave Liverpool this summer after being told he is not a part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the up coming season, and there is a new team being linked with making a move for the Italian striker.
The striker has been linked with a move to the Turkish Super Lig this summer with Besiktas being most strongly linked with making a move, although it is not thought to have appealed to the Italian.
However, Eredivisie runners-up Ajax have now also joined the race to sign the former Manchester City striker. The Dutch club are in the hunt for a new striker after reportedly accepting an offer for Polish striker Milik, who has been linked with a move to Napoli to replace Juventus bound Gonzalo Higuain.
Balotelli has accepted that he will need to lower his wages from his current £90,000-a-week, something he would need to do to join Ajax, who do not pay their stars more than £40,000-a-week.
Balotelli is in desperate need of an upturn in his fading career after dreadful spells at Inter Milan, Liverpool and AC Milan in recent years.
