his afternoon, Manchester United confirmed the exit of Japanese playmaker Shinji Kagawa. Big things were expected of the 25-year old from Dortmund, but sadly due to one thing and another, it didn’t go the way we all hoped and thought it would. Kagawa will rejoin Dortmund, in a deal thought to be worth around €8million.
He cost United £12million two summers ago, and it was expected that Kagawa would be the main #10 in the Manchester United squad. However, less than a week later, Sir Alex Ferguson made his move for Robin van Persie; Which meant Rooney would be dropped back into the #10 slot, shifting Kagawa out wide.
He gave the Premier League one moment of joy when he bagged a superb hat-trick at home against Norwich City, but putting that aside he didn’t make as big of an impact as we’d have liked.
Kagawa made 57 appearances for Manchester United, scoring six goals.
