Sunderland came close to relegation last year, but were reinvigorated by the arrival of Gus Poyet. The Uruguay coach has been a revelation on Wearside, and almost guided The Black Cats to Capital One Cup success. He’s made some clever signings so far, and will hope to add Borini to that list in the not too distant future.
Key Player: I’ve gone for Connor Wickham here. The big striker had an excellent end to the season, and he scored goals for fun. If he can start off this campaign in the same vein of form, he’ll easily manage fifteen-plus goals this year. Top talent.

Sunderland have made some decent signings in the form of Jack Rodwell, Jordi Gomez and Costel Pantillimon. However, with the quality in the Premier League this season, they need that big name signing to push them on to the next level. If they manage to lure Borini to Wearside, that’d certainly go a long way to helping their cause.
