Schweinsteiger wants Manchester United stay!

Reports over the last few days have claimed that former Germany international Bastian Schweinsteiger has been told he can leave Manchester United.

However, reports in German publication Bild, claim that this is not the case, and that the midfielder intends to stay at Old Trafford beyond the summer.

The German retired from International football last week, most likely to focus upon, and hopefully extend his playing career that has been blighted by a number of injuries in the last season.

He moved to the Premier League club after finally leaving Bayern Munich last summer, but is thought to have been told by Jose Mourinho that he is surplus to requirements. The 32-year old is yet to feature in any of Manchester United’s pre-season matches.

However, Schweinsteiger apparently intends to see out the remaining two-years on his contract, unless Mourinho makes it specifically clear that he will not be featuring for the club, and effectively forces him out.

Manchester United are on the brink of completing a World Record deal for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, which will limit Schweinsteiger’s involvement further.
