Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is closing in on a return to Old Trafford, but finally in his dream job as Manchester United manager, according to reports in Spain and England.
Spanish newspaper, Marca, is reporting that Mourinho is close to a return to the Premier League dugout, however it is thought that whatever happens with current United boss, Louis van Gaal, Mourinho will not take up the managers role in Manchester until 1st July 2016.
Should Van Gaal be removed from his post before the summer, Marca, think that current assistant manager Ryan Giggs will take over as a caretaker manager once again, just as he did following David Moyes’ departure in 2014.
Another Spanish publication, El Confidencial has claimed that Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has “done his job” by securing his clients next position.
Mendes already has good links with United after securing many deals for his players and the club, including current United goalkeeper, David de Gea. He was also the reason why Manchester United sign Portuguese flop, Bebe, highlighting the influence that Mendes has on the Premier League club.
Former Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid manager, Mourinho has been out of work since being removed as Chelsea manager back in December. The Portuguese has the Champions League twice (with Porto and Inter), as well as 8 League titles in 4 different countries.
