Reports – Fellaini signs contract

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has agreed to end his time with the club according to reports in Turkey.

The Belgium international midfielder has just four-and-a-half months remaining on his current at Old Trafford, and is free to negotiate his future away from the club.

Reports have suggested in recent months that he wants to move away from the club in the search of a fresh challenge, and according to Turkish outlet Fotomac, he has now agreed to sign a pre-contract agreement to complete a free transfer to Besiktas.

Fellaini has been restricted to just 12 appearances for the Red Devils this season, thanks to a number of injuries to his knee, where he is not due to return to action for at least six weeks. Manchester United current boss, Jose Mourinho has recently said of the 30-year-old:

“I don’t think the news is very good, he has a problem in his knee.

“It is not an ACL, a complete rupture of any structure of the knee, we are not going so far as that but we need him.”

Mourinho is still believed to be harbouring a desire of getting Fellaini tied down to a new contract at club for the last few weeks.

The Belgian has been at Old Trafford since 2013, becoming the first signing of the post Sir Alex Ferguson era when David Moyes agreed to spend £27.5m for his services.

He was widely disliked by United fans in his early years after a number of poor performances, but has ultimately won them over with some more impressive displays and some crucial goals.
