Zidane leaves Real Madrid

The son of club legend and current Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has left the club, moving to La Liga club Alaves on a permanent three year deal.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder, Enzo has gone to Alaves, who finished 9th last season. His father/manager, allowed the deal and didn’t try to keep him at the club.

Like Mariano, the cause of this deal is most probably Enzo’s playing time, or lack of it. He played only once for the senior team in his tenure at Real, in a Copa Del Rey tie against Leonesa. Enzo scored in the game.

His performances in the Castilla were mediocre, scoring seven and assisting 15 goals in almost 80 games.

Other than his natural attacking-mid position, Zidane can play on the wing too, this will make him a very valuable player for Alaves.

This is Alaves’ 4th transfer of this window, including loan deals; as they look to improve their position in the La Liga. This is Real’s fourth departure of this season (Pepe, Mariano, Zidane, Llorente).
