Real Madrid eye Manchester United star

Real Madrid are eyeing up a move for Manchester United forward, Anthony Martial.

According to the Daily Mirror, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is a big admirer of his fellow compatriot, and is keen to sign him after the club’s struggles so far this season.

Los Blancos are seven points behind El Classico rivals Barcelona, and are down in fourth spot in La Liga behind Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid have been linked with a number of forwards over the last few months after missing out on Kylian Mbappe to PSG last summer, a player they were widely expected to sign.

With Cristiano Ronaldo approaching 33 and Karim Benzema almost 30, and Gareth Bale seemingly permanently injured, Real Madrid are looking to reinvigorate their attacking options.

They have recently been linked with a move for the likes of Neymar in recent weeks. However the Brazilian is likely to cost the same £198m that he cost last summer, meaning Real Madrid could make an £80m for Manchester United wide man Anthony Martial as an alternative.

Martial moved to Old Trafford in 2015 and had a sensational debut season in the Premier League, becoming the club’s top scorer. However the arrival of Jose Mourinho saw the onset of a challenging period for the Frenchman, who spent a lot of time on the fringes on the squad. He has come back this season with a bang, scoring seven goals so far this season already.

Chiefs at the Spanish club believe the 21-year-old could develop into one of the games biggest talents, and will go all out to try to sign him next summer.
