PSG target £30m Man Utd defender

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is being linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Argentinian has less than 18 months remaining on his current deal, and has left the club frustrated with the amount of time it has taken to agree a new one.

Now, according to The Sun, big spending French side PSG are ready to make a surprise move for the 27-year-old. They claim that they are determined to add Rojo to their impressive list of stars, which already includes plenty of South Americans, including Neymar, Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Angel di Maria

The report says that they could make a £30m summer offer for the former Sporting Lisbon defender, which would represent a significant profit on the £16m fee they paid the Portuguese club back in 2014.

United boss Jose Moutinho is known to be a big admirer of the defender, and sees him as a key part of his plans, especially after the abject performances of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in the recent defeat to Newcastle.

He has however been boosted by the return of Eric Bailly who has spent two months on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.

Rojo and Bailly were often Manchester United’s first choice pairing last season.

Elsewhere, Juventus are thought to be interested in fellow United defender, Matteo Darmian.
