Premier League legends slam Mourinho over Pogba

Premier League pundits are queuing up at the moment to have a pop at Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

If it’s not the Portuguese coaches defensive tactical approach that is being called into question, it’s his handling of star players like Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw.

The latest pundits to lay into Mourinho are former Arsenal striker Ian Wright and former Liverpool and Man City attacker Craig Bellamy. Both recently appeared on Sky Sports Debate show and heavily criticised Mourinho’s handling of his club’s record signing Paul Pogba.

“[Pogba’s France manager Didier] Deschamps has already said that he is not being used right ,”’

“You look at the way Pogba is with the character and the personality. The persona of him. He is a player that has to be free in what he is doing.

“Yes he can play Pogba a little deeper and he will spray those balls but play him further forward so that he can express himself. That is the kind of player he is.”

“He wants to express himself and do that kind of stuff. It doesn’t look like rocket science to me.” Wright said.

Before Bellamy waded in adding that Mourinho is at fault for not getting the best out of the talented France international.

“He just doesn’t look happy within himself.”

“I don’t think he understands the role which he is being asked to play.

“I’m not sure when I watch him what type of midfield role he is playing.”
