Pochettino gives his thoughts on Sanchez deal

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media ahead of his sides crunch Premier League fixture against Manchester United at Wembley tomorrow night.

The former Argentina manager was asked about the Old Trafford club’s signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, and admitted that United have got themselves a top player to go with their already impressive list of attacking options:

“I think he’s a great player of course. One more that Manchester United added to their squad.

“Alexis Sanchez, Mata, Lingard, Rashford, Martial, Lukaku, Ibrahimovic. Plenty of talented players.

“I think it’s one option more and another great player they add to the squad.”

Tomorrow’s game is a huge game for Spurs, who currently sit in fifth position in the table, eight points behind United.

If the North London side were to lose tomorrow that would open up an 11 point gap between the two teams, and with only 13 games left this season, it would virtually guarantee Jose Mourinho’s side a top four finish.

Spurs are also close to adding attacking reinforcements themselves, with PSG’s speedy winger Lucas Moura currently in London to finalise a move to the club.
