Paris Saint-Germain announce Laurent Blanc replacement

French Champions Paris Saint-Germain have announced that former Sevilla manager Unai Emery will take over the vacant managers role at the club after Laurent Blanc left his position yesterday.

The Spaniard has signed a two-year deal with the Ligue 1 club after he left Sevilla earlier this month, despite leading them to the Europa League title for three consecutive seasons, including last months victory against Liverpool in Basle.

Emery said:

It is with great pride that I accept the challenge of coaching PSG.

This club has become one of the biggest in Europe over recent seasons, and I am happy and honoured to help lead it towards achieving its goals.
I am eager to meet up with my new players as well as the people who work tirelessly every day to help the club grow.

I know that an immense fervour exists around the Paris Saint-Germain and I will be giving my best to ensure its millions of fans have a great deal to cheer about.

French legend Blanc, left the club after three years in charge, winning three consecutive Ligue 1 titles.
