Pardew unsure of Evans future amid transfer speculation

Alan Pardew has admitted that he does not know if Jonny Evans will be a West Bromwich Albion player at the end of the month. The Northern Ireland international has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Manchester City and former club Manchester United.

When asked if he thought Evans would be at the Hawthorns at the end of the January transfer window, Pardew replied:

“I think so, yeah, I don’t know.

“It’s very difficult in this window.”

Evans moved to West Bromwich Albion for just £6m in 2015, after former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal deemed him surplus to requirements.

However his improved form for both club and country has seen him attracting attention from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, with a potential £20m move speculated during the summer. The Baggies kept their man back then, but with the club currently sitting in the drop zone, they may struggle to keep hold of the 30-year-old beyond the end of this month.
