No Arsenal talks for Malcom insist Bordeaux president

Monaco have denied that they are in negotiations with Arsenal regarding the transfer of Malcom.

Speculation over the last few days has suggested that Arsenal have held talks with the French club regarding a potential £45m move for the Brazilian winger, who is seen as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who is thought to be close to moving to Manchester United.

However, Bordeaux president Stephane Martin has said that his club have not had any contact from the Gunners regarding their player, and even if they do, they are not prepared to let him leave on the cheap. He told French newspaper L’Equipe:

“Things are clear with his agents. He has not been extended and secured this summer to give him away this winter.

“We never had a discussion with Arsenal. From our point of view, it’s wind. They can always try, but they will have a hard time taking him from us.”

Malcom has also attracted attention from the likes Manchester United and Tottenham after scoring seven goals and providing five assists in his 19 Ligue 1 appearances this season.

Meanwhile, Bordeaux manager Jocelyn Gourvenne has admitted that the player is asking questions about what is best for his career, and well as hinting that Liverpool could be interested in signing him too.
