Newcastle place £10m bid for England International

Premier League strugglers Newcastle United have made a £10million bid to sign Swansea City and England midfielder, Jonjo Shelvey.

Shelvey, who has also attracted attention from Crystal Palace, has fallen out of contention at the Liberty Stadium, and is said to be desperate to leave the Swans, according to The Telegraph.

Newcastle are in desperate need for proven Premier League quality as they try to fight against a second relegation in recent years, and Shelvey would fit the bill nicely.

Newcastle are also thought to be looking to bolster their squad with the addition of a striker. Andre Gray of Burnley is interesting the Magpies following his 15 goals at Turf Moor.
