Newcastle United have cooled their interest in Tottenham and England winger, Andros Townsend, according to Sky Sports.
The Magpies have been linked with the 24-year old throughout the January transfer window but have been said to have wanted to loan the player first, and then a bid of around £10.5million that was also rejected. Tottenham are believed to want closer to £14million for the out of favour Winger.
Townsend hasn’t featured with the first team in over 3 months, since October 22nd, when he had a public bust up with a member of the Spurs back room staff. Now, Josh Onomah seems to have leapfrogged Townsend in the pecking order at White Hart Lane.
However with Spurs pricing Newcastle out of the transfer, Watford are said to be monitoring the situation before the transfer deadline in 8 days time
