Newcastle United are closing in on the signing of Chelsea outcast Christian Atsu on a season long loan.
The winger arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2013 but is yet to make a Premier League appearance for the club.
During his time as a Chelsea player, he has been loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga, but is still waiting to break into the first team squad with his parent club.
Newcastle are in discussions to be the players fifth loan club as they look to add the wingers pace and creativity to their Championship promotion push.
If Atsu were to arrive at St James’ Park this summer, he would become Rafa Benitez’s TENTH signing as he looks to overhaul the relegated giants.
Italian club Torino are also interested signing Atsu.
