Newcastle United have finally agreed a fee of around £12m for Tottenham Hotspur winger, Andros Townsend, according to the BBC.
Newcastle have been interested in Townsend throughout the duration of the transfer window but have been some way short of Spurs valuation of around £14million. Rumours circled a few days ago that Newcastle were willing to pull out of the deal, but now the BBC claim that the clubs have finally agreed on a fee.
Townsend has been playing with the Tottenham Under 21 squad lately, as he has fallen out of favour with Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochetino following a public bust up with a fitness coach. He hasn’t played in the first team since October 22nd, and will be keen to get game time before this summers European Championships.
It is understood that Townsend is very keen on a move to St James’ Park.
