Everton are planning to tie one of their star players to a new long term deal.
The club want to offer academy graduate Ross Barkley a new deal at the club as they look to build a side around the attacking midfielder.
He has started life under Ronald Koeman in excellent form, already scoring two goals in the Premier League this season, after his form tailed off under Roberto Martinez last season.
Despite his good start to the season with the Blues, Barkley was a surprise omission from Sam Allardyce’s first England squad, with Michail Antonio earning his first call up whilst Theo Walcott was recalled.
Everton are believed to have been in ‘constant dialogue’ with Barkleys advisors and are preparing a long term package to keep the player at Goodison Park.
