Mourinho says Sanchez deal is ”so close.”

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho revealed his club’s move for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez is close to completion.

Speaking after his sides hard fought 1-0 over Burnley at Turf Moor today the Portuguese coach said:

“I expect soon or never, I think is so close, so close, so close that if it doesn’t happen it’s not going to happen, so I am positive.

“I know my people are doing everything they can, the owners with the green light, Ed Woodward working hard and everybody is giving everything they can and I think they are going to be successful.”

United again left Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is due to move to Arsenal as part 0f the deal to bring Sanchez to Old Trafford, out of their squad for todays match. Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, also admitted earlier that he expects the deal to go through soon.

Mourinho’s team maintained their three point cushion in second place in the Premier League table, after a second-half Anthony Martial goal sealed victory today, although they were pushed all the way by Sean Dyche’s resolute side.

If Sanchez does sign for United in the coming days, as is widely expected, he will be in line to make his debut for the Red Devils in their fourth round FA Cup tie away to League Two Yeovil next weekend.
