Middlesbrough to bring in former Man Utd full-back

Newly promoted Premier Lesgue club Middlesbrough have made some excellent business this summer, bringing in the likes of Alvaro Negredo, Victor Valdes and Viktor Fischer, but their summer business is not yet over as they close in on signing a former Manchester United full-back.

Boro expect a deal to be completed within the next 48-hours for Brazilian full-back Fabio da Silva, who currently plays for Championship club Cardiff City.

The 26-year old has one-year remaining on his contract at the Cardiff City stadium, and was left out of the clubs opening Championship game at the weekend amid interest for “another club”

It is expected that the deal to take Fabio to the Riverside will be worth around £2million.

Fabio is the twin brother of Lyon full back Rafael.
