Mesut Ozil break’s Eric Cantona’s Premier League record

Mesut Ozil became a Premier League Record breaker today, becoming the fastest player to ever achieve 50 assists.

The German set up Shkodran Mustafi who opened the scoring for the Gunners in their 3-0 victory over Watford, and in turn registered the 50th league assist of his Arsenal career, in his 141st league appearance for the club.

That means that he beats a whole host of Premier League legends to become the fastest to achieve 50 assists, including previous record holder, former Manchester United forward Eric Cantona who took two days more to reach the milestone.

Also within the top five are Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp, former Arsenal and now Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, as well as Man City’s David Silva.
