Pressure on Koeman

Everton have lost all their last four fixtures and come into this with two wins in 12 games. After the midweek defeat to Lyon in the Europa League, there were rumours about how this game could be Ronald Koeman’s last game as Everton manager if they were to lose.

Everton were one of the teams who had spent massively in the summer and there were a lot of expectations from them. However, Ronald Koeman’s side have failed to impress as they sit just two places above the relegation zone, putting Koeman’s job in danger.

Arsenal find hope in Wilshere

Arsenal’s injury prone midfielder Jack Wilshere is finally back and given Arsenal fans some hope for this season. The midfielder has impressed performing incredibly well in all the Europa League games he has played this season. Granit Xhaka, who has not been anywhere near his best for Arsenal, might have his place under threat after some very convincing performances from Jack Wilshere.

However, Xhaka is expected to start this game anyway as Wilshere completed 90 minutes on Thursday night against Red Star Belgrade in Serbia and there is no chance Wenger will risk him so early.

Team News

Danny Welbeck, Calum Chambers, David Ospina and Shkodran Mustafi are all out for Arsenal, along with long term absentee Santi Cazorla. Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny return for Arsenal from minor setbacks.

For Everton, Morgan Schneiderlin limped off the field on Thursday. James McCarthy, returning from knee injury could fill in his place for Everton, if Schneiderlin is not fit to start.

Predicted Lineup

Everton: Pickford; Holgate, Keane, Jagielka, Baines; Gueye, Schneiderlin, Davies, Sigurdsson, Calvert-Lewin; Rooney.

Arsenal: Cech; Monreal, Koscielny, Mertesacker; Bellerin; Xhaka, Ramsey, Kolasinac; Sanchez, Özil, Lacazette.

Prediction

Manchester United dropped points this weekend while Liverpool play Tottenham after Arsenal’s game. So this game becomes incredibly important for Arsenal to get the three points. Koeman’s will be fighting to keep his job, but I expect a 1-3 Arsenal win at Goodison Park.
