Liverpool Football Club have this evening confirmed the signing of Italian striker, Mario Balotelli. The 24-year old cost £16million from AC Milan, and if Brendan Rodgers can keep him on the straight and narrow, he’ll certainly score goals for the Red half of Merseyside.
He’s a proven Premier League goalscorer, and you felt that Rickie Lambert alone wasn’t enough to replace Luis Suarez in terms of a world class talent. Now that Liverpool have added Balotelli, you certainly get the impression that Rodgers’ side certainly look a lot stronger.
Upon completing his move, Balotelli said:
“Liverpool are one of the best teams here in England and the football is very good here. It’s a great team with young players, and that’s why I came here.”
In his eighteen months at AC Milan, Balotelli scored 30 goals in 54 appearances for Milan.
