Manchester United have been braced for a big bid for their Spanish goalkeeper this summer, just two years after Real Madrid’s attempted move for the player broke down.

In recent weeks it has almost seemed as when, and not if, the player will move back to the Spanish capital.

With this in mind, United themselves have been looking for replacements for De Gea. Kasper Schmeichel, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Jan Oblak have all been touted as potential replacements in recent weeks.

However, Jose Mourinho may have been handed a massive boost in their hopes to keep De Gea at the club. It is believed that Real Madrid have angered their cross city rivals Atletico by also weighing up the signing of their keeper, Oblak.

Oblak has had a phenomenal time in Spain after taking over the number one spot from Chelsea’s on loan ‘keeper Thibaut Courtois, and is now being looked at by the European champions.

The Slovenian goalkeeper has and £85million release clause in his contract, but it is thought that Atletico could listen to offers in the region of £40million and above.
