Manchester United have been handed a favourable Champions League playoff draw, as they’ll take on the Belgian side Club Brugge over two legs throughout August. Louis van Gaal will be happy to have avoided the long trip to Russia to take on CSKA Moscow, or talented sides like Lazio and AS Monaco.
You’d imagine that this draw, barring a miracle from Brugges, should see Manchester United into the group stage proper after a season-long absence due to the David Moyes failure from the season before.
It will be great seeing the Reds back involved, as they’ll join Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal hoping to bring the big trophy back to England come May.
The ties will be played on the 18/19th and the 25th/26th August.
