Manchester United are preparing a huge £90 million bid to bring Real Madrid winger, Gareth Bale, to Old Trafford, according to reports in The Times.
Bale has been linked with a move to Manchester United ever since he was a Tottenham player, and the rumours never seem to go away. Speculation has increased however since Rafael Benitez’s departure as Real Madrid head coach. Bale is thought to have had a good relationship with Benitez and was left disappointed following the Spaniards sacking.
Bale responded at the weekend with a Hat-trick in Zinedine Zidane’s first game in charge against Deportivo. Following the game, Bale said;
I don’t feel I need to make a statement to anyone.
I had a very good relationship with Rafa, obviously it was a big disappointment to see him go, but things like this happen in football, you’re professional and get in with it and carry on.
I’m happy at the moment. Obviously you can never predict what happens in the future, but I’m enjoying my football at the moment so I’ll keep going.
Speculation of a potential move to United was also increased when Bale’s former manager, Harry Redknapp told BBC Radio 5 live,
Gareth Bale is in the top 4 or 5 players in the world. He is an amazing talent. If Manchester Unuted took him they could come close to winning the title this year. He can make that much difference.
Bale is a match-winner. He scores goals and he can make goals. He could go get them 16 or 17 goals from now until the end of the season if he went on a run and he could turn the club around. He would be an incredible signing.
It is no secret that Manchester United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is a huge fan and wants to bring in some big names to Manchester United.
