Jose Mourinho has given Phil Jones assurances over his Manchester United after falling down the pecking order under Louis van Gaal.
It had been thought that Jones’ Manchester United future was in doubt, especially after the £30million capture of Villarreal centre-back Eric Bailly.
However Mourinho has apparently spoken to England International to inform him that he is part of the Portuguese’ plans, and he wants him to become his new John Terry.
Terry was the mainstay of the Chelsea defence during both of Mourinho’s spells at Stamford Bridge, and The Sun claims that Mourinho has similar plans for the 24-year old who moved to Old Trafford five years ago.
Jones managed just TEN appearances for Manchester United last season after a series of injuries, as well as falling behind Daley Blind in the pecking order, despite the Dutchman only being a makeshift centre back.
