Manchester United fans reported for ‘racist’ chanting

Manchester United’s have received a complaint about their own fans from the ‘kick it out’ campaign regarding an allegedly offensive and racist chant.

The kick it out campaign, which campaigns to rid the game of football from racism, has complained to the Premier League giants regarding the song which has been heard about new signing, Romelu Lukaku.

The chant, which refers to the size of the Belgian strikers manhood, has attracted attention from the campaign, who have written to Manchester United in the hope of getting the song banned on grounds of ‘offensive and discriminatory’ behaviour.

The campaign said:

“Racist stereotypes are never acceptable in football or wider society, irrespective of any intention to show support for a player.

“We have contacted Manchester United regarding the issue and will be working closely with them and the FA to ensure it is addressed swiftly.”

Manchester United fans have been heard in their last two home games against Basel and Everton singing about their new signing Romelu Lukaku, in a manner which could be described as racially stereotypical.
