Manchester United dealt Sadio Mane blow

Yesterday we learnt that Manchester United had pulled the plug on a deal for Pedro Rodriguez, as Louis van Gaal reportedly had a change of heart and decided not to sign the 28-year old.

Shortly after those reports about Pedro came news of a Manchester United move for Southampton’s Sadio Mane – a 23-year old Senegal international who holds the record for the fastest Premier League hat-trick.

However The Saints have quashed those rumours and said that they will not sell Mane at any cost whatsoever and they plan on keeping the versatile winger.

It seems a bit of an odd decision to take, as Pedro would certainly be a much better and cheaper alternative to Mane, but Manchester United clearly feel they need a winger, as well as someone who is capable of filling in as a striker wherever necessary.
