Manchester United could still sign Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos

Manchester United have been chasing the signature of Sergio Ramos for what feels like all summer, before the news broke that Madrid were close to tying the 29-year old down to a long-term contract. However that is yet to happen, and according to Cadena Ser, United could still sign the Spaniard.

Ramos is holding out for a bigger contract than the £135,000-a-week deal which is currently on the table, and if Manchester United time their swoop right with a high enough wage packet, Louis van Gaal could land his man before the September 1st deadline.

There is no doubt that Ramos would be a welcome addition to Manchester United’s inexperienced defence, and it would be fantastic to see a player of his calibre playing week-in week-out in the Premier League.
