Manchester United and City set to battle it out for signature of world star

Yesterday Manchester City finally released the news regarding the worst kept secret of the season; Pep Guardiola will become their new manager this summer. He’ll obviously have the pulling power to bring in some of the world’s best, and now they are set to rival Manchester United for the signature of Neymar Jr.

The 23-year old Brazilian has been a long-term target for Louis van Gaal and Manchester United, ahead of a proposed £100million deal that could take place this summer.

Now City have entered the race to sign him, and could well be favourites to land the Barcelona man. At this point in time it would be a no brainer for Neymar himself. Would he want to play under Pep Guardiola who allows players to express themselves, or Louis van Gaal, who limits his teams attacking threats in order of a more defensive-minded system.

  1. True as far as LvG goes. If Mourinho comes it might be easier to bring back Ronaldo, but I’d prefer the much younger Neymar.
