Manchester United and Chelsea plot shock swap deal

Manchester United and Chelsea could be about to take part in a shock swap deal as both clubs new managers look to bring in trusted players to their new clubs.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been linked with making a move for Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic. Matic was one of Mourinho’s first signings of his second spell at Stamford Bridge and became one of Chelsea’s key players during their 2014/15 title success.

Mourinho has already made a preliminary assesment of the Manchester United squad and the areas where the club needs strengthening, and Matic is said to feature highly on those plans to reinforce the squad.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been linked with taking Manchester United full back Matteo Darmian to Stamford Bridge. The pair are currently working together in France as part of Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign, leading to speculation that the Italian pair could be reunited at the West London club. 26-year old Darmian, who can play at both right back and left back, is a first choice starter under Conte for Italy.

Reports in today’s media claim that Manchester United and Chelsea could complete a swap deal for the duo.
