Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring the contract situation of Arsenal star, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as they are interested in signing the former Southampton man, according to football website, Football Insider.
Arsene Wenger is still said to be a big fan of the 22-year old who has been on the fringes of the first team, and they are ready to open negotiations regarding an improvement to the England mans deal.
Oxlade-Chamberlain had a poor calendar year in 2015, not scoring a single goal in his 30 appearances, but he got back on the scoresheet at the weekend in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory at Bournemouth.
The winger, who can also play centrally, has fallen behind in the pecking order with Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Özil, Theo Walcott, Joel Campbell, Sant Carzorla, Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin all seemingly ahead. But despite his limited opportunities, Wenger is keen to offer an improvement to his current £52,000-a- week deal that has two-and-a-half years remaining.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all said to be keeping an eye on the situation.
