Manchester United have agreed a fee for the versatile Dutchman, Daley Blind, according to various reports including the Daily Mail, The Mirror, and the Dutch media outlet De Telegraaf (who broke the Louis van Gaal to United news). The fee being touted is £14million plus bonuses, which is an extremely reasonable fee for the 24-year old.
Blind still has to undergo a medical and agree personal terms with Manchester United, but these are normally a formality and the Dutch midfielder should be a Red Devil before Monday’s 11pm deadline.
His versatility will be a great bonus for United. His primary position is midfield, but he can also play at centre-back and left wingback – where he played for Holland at the World Cup and did superbly.
The fee is cheap too, so he’s certainly worth the game. He knows Louis van Gaal’s system already due to the pair working together at the World Cup, so he should be able to slot right in and hopefully make an impact straight away.
If the deal does go through, that will take Manchester United’s spending over the £150million mark for the summer window – the biggest outlay ever by an English club.
